What a remarkably appealing presence this L494 Range Rover Sport is. Sporty in character, yet never overly conspicuous. A Range Rover with a fresh and original appearance, a clearly documented past and a complete, well-kept service history. Do not be misled by the name of the colour, however — Mariana Black. In reality it reveals itself as a beautiful, deep dark blue with many different shades depending on the light.
Service history is what truly matters. Although the maintenance was already fully up to date, we nevertheless commissioned a major service immediately after acquisition. In addition, four new wheels with four new tyres have been fitted, and both the interior and exterior have been fully detailed. The result: a wonderfully driving Sport, with an even more pleasing appearance.
The Range Rover Sport is a particularly versatile motor car; ideal for our own use as well. Slightly more compact than the Range Rover Vogue, and therefore more manageable, yet still offering generous interior space and a high level of luxury. Luggage, a family, a dog — there is room for everything. Long motorway journeys at speed, or a busy city centre filled with speed bumps and obstacles; in a Range Rover you feel at home everywhere. Add the electrically deployable tow bar and it becomes clear that this is the ultimate all-round vehicle.
The beautiful Ebony leather, combined with the aluminium trim elements, is a pleasure to look at. The large automatically opening panoramic roof allows plenty of light into the cabin, giving the interior an even greater sense of space. Laminated glass ensures minimal wind noise. The electrically adjustable seats feature memory functions, and even the side bolsters of the backrest can be adjusted.
The automatic gearbox, with no fewer than eight gears, shifts swiftly and flawlessly. The large touchscreen is intuitive to operate, while the connection with your phone for calls and music streaming establishes itself almost automatically. When reversing, the screen clearly shows what is happening behind the car, supported by parking sensors both at the front and the rear.
The Sport feels pleasantly brisk on the road. Hardly surprising, as this example is equipped with the powerful 3.0 SDV6 producing no less than 306 horsepower. One might perhaps expect a substantial fuel consumption, yet over the past 10,000 kilometres the onboard computer shows an average of 8.8 litres per 100 kilometres — a very respectable 1 in 11.3.
The overall condition of this Range Rover is particularly good. No unusual noises, no unwanted vibrations, and naturally no warning lights or faults. Does that mean there is nothing at all to remark upon? As with any motor car, there is always something to mention. In this case you may find the occasional small scratch or minor mark, though they are certainly not noticeable. The overall appearance of this Sport remains exceptionally fresh.
The Sport has been maintained throughout without a single service interval being missed. The Range Rover was previously driven for business use by its former owner, who clearly spared no expense, something that is evident in every respect. Naturally, all invoices are present, the service booklet is complete, and the car is supplied with two remote keys, both in near-new condition.
