The most distinctive member of the XJ family, in its most distinctive form. Coupé, or XJC.

There are many beautiful and special XJs, but the XJC takes the crown. It shares the same wheelbase as the Series II Saloon of the period, yet was built with just two doors and elegant pillarless window frames. Rare to find, especially in this condition.

Just look at that beautiful roofline, finished with vinyl. The stunning paintwork, exactly as it left the factory in Silver Metallic. The interior is trimmed in Dark Blue leather, a combination that suits the Coupé quite wonderfully.

Thorough maintenance can make or break the ultimate classic car experience. For that reason, this Jaguar has been treated to extensive mechanical attention. Many technical items requiring care have been addressed. In the past, for example, the complete rear subframe was rebuilt. The IRS, Independent Rear Suspension, is in excellent condition, as are the brakes. A costly and important job. All of this is what makes stepping into and driving this Coupé such a pleasure. That is exactly what they were built for.

The low production numbers, combined with the fact that many examples have been lost over the years, make the Jaguar XJ Coupé an increasingly interesting car from a value perspective. For years now, values have been steadily rising. That keeps the hobby affordable, doesn’t it?

The paintwork of this Coupé is in very good condition and the quality is high, something you do not often see anymore. The leather upholstery is original and presents well, with some wear visible on the bolster of the driver’s seat. The door rubbers feel good and show no cracks or splits.

The beautiful chromework, the handsome original Kent wheels. The elegant Jaguar badging and emblems complete the picture perfectly.

And what a delight this Coupé is to drive. The way it behaves on the road is exceptional and simply cannot be compared to the majority of Jaguars offered from this era. You notice it in everything. This XJC is a true Grand Tourer. Wonderfully comfortable suspension without feeling floaty, combined with enough power to effortlessly cruise at low revs. None of this is surprising; at some point in its life, the XJC was fitted with a later 4.2 straight-six engine, still true to original specification, but upgraded with fuel injection, to name just one example.

As mentioned, the Jaguar Series II XJC in left-hand drive configuration is relatively rare. An original example should therefore be properly documented. This Jaguar is supplied with its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate. In addition, there is an extensive history file present, including documentation supporting both its provenance and maintenance history.

The underside and chassis are in particularly good condition. There is no substantial corrosion visible, while the sills and wheel arches are solid. Naturally, many detailed photographs are available.

As mentioned earlier, the car has recently benefited from maintenance carried out by specialists within our network.

Are there any imperfections? Of course. A classic of this age will always show a few. The headlining still presents well, although it has started to sag slightly in places. Around the car you will find a few small imperfections in the paintwork, such as a light scratch or the occasional tiny blister. The window mechanisms on both sides function properly, albeit somewhat slowly.

There is much more that could be said about this unique Jaguar, though the best impression is naturally formed behind the wheel. You are most welcome in Uden, the coffee is ready. Viewing by appointment only.
