With a single press of the start button, the mighty 560 bhp Bentley W12 awakens with a magically sonorous roar.
What a presence – the Bentley Continental GT. Even if you are well acquainted with the upper echelon of British motoring, a Bentley remains an experience in its own right.
And a very special experience at that. Though this particular GT has gathered its fair share of mileage, the sense of occasion is undiminished. The formidable W12 up front, the supremely luxurious cockpit before you – it all comes together perfectly. The coachwork looks especially striking in the magnificent Barnato Green, a hue that harks back to the legendary British Racing Green of old. The exterior harmonises beautifully with the full leather interior in Saffron, contrasted by Spruce – simply stunning. The original 19-inch 9-Spoke Mulliner wheels suit this classic GT to perfection.
A Bentley is a car where everything feels just right – a car to be experienced in your own, unique way. Quality reveals itself in every detail: the choice of materials, the tactile sensations, the atmosphere. Whether you wish to enjoy a leisurely drive on a rainy day or a spirited tour through the Ardennes, the Continental GT W12 rises effortlessly to the occasion.
Bentley excels at this art: distilling the finest elements of automotive craftsmanship into a single masterpiece. And should there be any lingering doubt – the standard four-wheel drive ensures grip and confidence during the wetter and colder seasons. The two sculpted rear seats genuinely accommodate adults, while the generously sized boot offers ample space for luggage.
This Continental GT was first delivered in Switzerland in 2006. Since then, servicing has been carried out by various dealers and specialists, all meticulously documented in the service book and supported by numerous invoices – more on that later.
The interior, too, is in outstanding condition. Not surprisingly, it has recently been carefully detailed by us. The leather has been thoroughly cleaned and treated, now presenting itself as it should: clean, supple, and with a refined matte finish.
The headlining has also been renewed – a costly undertaking that truly restores the interior to its full splendour.
In fact, the decision to replace the headlining was what ultimately led to this Continental GT joining our collection. The previous owner, a particularly friendly and enthusiastic gentleman, happened upon a rare and beautiful Jaguar in our showroom. He fell instantly in love and, without hesitation, exchanged his Bentley for a new British adventure.
This is, without doubt, a very special car – a future classic that resonates with true enthusiasts. As a connoisseur, you may be wondering why this Bentley is so attractively priced. While the GT presents itself remarkably well, there are a few points worth mentioning. I value open and transparent communication, and so I prefer to state these matters as precisely as possible.
In this case, the power steering pump produces a slight whine at lower revs. The engine management warning light is illuminated; however, the Bentley continues to drive smoothly and without complaint. Diagnostics suggest the issue is most likely caused by a camshaft sensor giving incorrect values. Additionally, the rear spoiler no longer rises and lowers automatically, and there may be a vacuum leak present, as the idle speed occasionally fluctuates. Are these matters insurmountable? Certainly not – not at the right price. Indeed, the previous owner enjoyed two years of carefree motoring with the car, without any significant issues. It is also worth noting that not every seller is equally forthcoming about such details – to put it mildly.
That said, the chassis feels solid and composed, and the tyres exhibit no unusual road noise. The windows operate and seal properly, and both keys are present. Nothing detracts from the fine appearance of this GT: the paintwork has been carefully polished, and the interior is in truly excellent condition. In short: the right Bentley at the right price. Whether this Continental GT marks the beginning of your Bentley journey or adds to your seasoned collection, you are acquiring an honest, beautiful classic.
There is, of course, much more that could be said about this remarkable Bentley – but the true impression can only be formed when you see and drive it for yourself. You are most welcome to visit us in Uden – the coffee is ready.
