Brooklands Green, Coffee interior trim, the reliable 4.0 inline six, a perfect combination!

They are becoming more scarce by the day, X300 Daimlers. Available examples are often not in good condition. Rare, especially in this special version, SWB or short wheelbase.

The Six was originally delivered new in Germany. The second owner imported it to the Netherlands many years ago, a common situation. He had been driving the Daimler daily since 2010, after which we took it over from him.

The Six has a beautiful color; Brooklands Green. The interior is in beautiful Coffee leather. Of course you will find burr walnut wood in abundance; wood that normally loses its deep color and shine due to the influence of UV light. Not with this Six, the woodwork looks beautiful and is in very nice condition. The chrome is in top condition, window frames are neatly in place.

Daimler, that means ultimate luxury. The distinction with the most luxurious Jaguar XJ member, the Sovereign, can be found in chrome mirror covers, chrome handles, a more luxurious ribbed grille and trunk handle. Finer leather complements the interior even more. And not to be missed are the burr walnut tables in the back, fitted with chrome hinges, beautiful!

The engine is the reliable four-liter inline six, which runs large numbers of kilometers without any problems. So you don’t have to worry about that. Of course, the Daimler was extensively maintained and checked immediately upon arrival. Fresh oil and coolant, new filters, among other things. During this maintenance it was noticed that the chassis looks very neat, no strange clearances are visible.

The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the suspension feels solid. A ‘singing’ differential is a well-known ailment of the X300 Jaguars and Daimlers. The differential of this Daimler is very quiet, inaudible. Not surprising, this differential has been overhauled in the past.

The exterior is in good condition. No rust is visible under the rear window. The underside is also in good condition; the sills show no serious rust and the rear subframe, for example, is still in good condition. The chrome on both bumpers, which is becoming scarce these days, is in exceptionally good condition. The original Daimler Turbine rims look neat and the Six is on four winter tires with good tread.

An X300 is often seen as Jaguar’s most reliable XJ. Due to the relatively short production period, the model is now also becoming scarce; a good copy is becoming increasingly difficult to find. It goes without saying that an X300 is a good investment.

You will of course find a lot of luxury in the Daimler for its time. It is equipped with an electrically operated and tilting sliding roof, electrically operated seats, Climate Control and a Jaguar radio. Less obvious, for example, is the electrically depth- and height-adjustable steering wheel. Even the headrests are electrically adjustable.

Beautiful to see; The original lambswool mat set is fully present and still in exceptionally good condition! You rarely see that after almost 30 years.

The headliner has been renovated by us, as well as the digital clock and even the radio have been completely checked, lighting has been repaired.

The service folder is of course present, complete with a fully completed maintenance booklet. The key set is complete; two working remote controls, two black keys and a green ‘valet key’.

What are the negatives, you ask? Apart from some minor damage and a small rust blister on the right front screen, there are no areas of concern.

Interesting for entrepreneurs; it concerns a VAT car. The price therefore includes VAT. In the Netherlands, additional charge ‘bijtelling’ for this Daimler is 35% of the current value, youngtimer scheme.

Of course, you only get a good picture when you look at the car and drive it. you are very welcome in Oirschot, the coffee is ready.
