How special is this Daimler from the X358 series, the final series. Only a few hundred examples were built. In this case equipped with the very potent 4.2 V8, equipped with a supercharger. This reliable power source delivers almost 400 HP to the rear wheels.
And what a special example, this Daimler. With a new price of around €170,000, you can expect that. Ventilation in both front seats, seat heating front and rear, even the special burr walnut steering wheel is heated. Adaptive cruise control, beautiful burl walnut tables in the back. Two separate seats where you would normally find a rear seat, of course also electrically adjustable. Multimedia in the headrests. You can even operate the sound system from the back seat. And then that beautiful lambswool mat set, fortunately still in very good condition.
This Daimler Super V8 in the beautiful Midnight Mica color just has it; An interior and exterior in top condition, a chassis in top condition, everything radiates quality. No stone chips, no parking coverage, no damage apart from a single scratch. That says something about the way this Daimler has been used, cherished in this case, in recent years. The condition remains great.
The first owner must have been a real enthusiast, just like the current owner, a customer here for years. Everything radiates enthusiasm. Speaking of history; This Daimler has been coming here for four years now. The previous owner bought the beautiful example two years ago and recently went for a beautiful 2010 Jaguar Supersport, the Daimler was traded in again. That’s how I like to see it!
The Super V8 has a special color; Midnight Mica. The interior has beautiful Barley leather, partly perforated. Of course you will find burr walnut wood in abundance. Wood that normally gets its deep color and shine due to the influence of UV light. In contrast to this Super V8, the woodwork looks beautiful and is in new condition.
The engine is the reliable 4196CC V8, which covers large numbers of kilometers without any problems. This version of the Jaguar Daimler AJV8 is equipped with improved chain tensioners and guides as standard and is difficult to adjust.
The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, the suspension feels solid. The standard air suspension ensures that the Daimler feels stable yet comfortable.
An X358 is an interesting XJ. The aluminum, self-supporting body ensures a low weight, lower than its predecessor. Contemporary technology makes it an ideal car for long distances. The engine block is the further developed version of the already reliable AJV8.
Upon arrival, this Daimler recently underwent major maintenance by our permanent technical specialist. Of course a brand new MOT. The service folder is present and the key set consists of 2 original folding keys and a green Valet key. There are many documents available, such as invoices and MOT reports, to document the history of this very special Daimler.
There are some interesting details that can make this Daimler even more personal. Starting with the headliner. This is becoming loose in some places, a known problem. Naturally, we will solve this before delivery and the entire headliner will be renovated. The choice of color and material is determined by the new owner. Will it be dust, or alcantara?
The hood ornament. During its first years, the Daimler was equipped with a Jaguar leaper on the hood. We offer the choice to deliver the Daimler either with this leaper, or with a Daimler ornament, or without ornament.
Then the rims and tires. The Super V8 was delivered new on the 18 inch rims as shown. These are currently equipped with Michelin winter tires in good condition. However, there is also a renovated set of 20″ Sepang rims with Pirelli summer tires available, at an additional cost.
Come on, there’s got to be something to complain about, right? There are just a few minor details to note. There is a very small discoloration of the leather on the right rear seat, the size of your fingertip. Then a small scratch is visible on the right side of the rear bumper. Was that it? Yes that was it.
